Mary Tomlinson Krebs (February 24, 1890 – April 10, 1975),[1] commonly known by her stage name Marjorie Main, was an American actress. She is best known for playing Ma Kettle in The Egg and I (1947) and in all nine installments of the Ma and Pa Kettle film series (1949-1957).[2]

Early lifeEdit

Main was born in Acton, Indiana, to Reverend Samuel J. Tomlinson (1850-1933)[3] and his wife, Jennie L. McGaughey (1868-1943).[4]
